TADEJ KENIG

Tadej Kenig is a solo clarinetist of a Slovenian National Theatre and Ballet in Ljubljana and a professor at University of Ljubljana Academy of Music. He is one of the most eminent muscians of the of the present time. He graduated in the class of Slavko Goričar at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and finished his postgraduate studies with the highest honours – Solistendiplom at Hochschule für Musik der Stadt Basel in the class of Fransois Benda. He is the winner of many prizes in national and international competitions. He was the absolute winner of the MMarco Fiorindo competition in Torino (Italy), in selezione clarinetto solista category. His performances include concerts in Slovenia and the rest of Europe, Asia and USA, where he performs as a chamber musician and the soloist with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonieorchester Basel, the Bratislava Chamber Orchesta, the Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Orchestra from Ljubljana and Cantus ensemble. He collaborated with the following conductors: Marko Letonja, Stefan saderling, Otmar Maga, Loris Voltolini, Berislav Šipuš. He is the member of the ARTvento Wind Quintet. He participated in a great number of international contemporary music festivals: Biennale Zagreb (Croatia), Electromediaworks Athens (Greece), S.O.U.N.D. (Scotland), Predihano, Zvokotok (Slovenia). At those festivals he collaborated with famous soloists and conductors: Krzystof Penderecki, Heinz Holliger, Jürg Henneberger, Jürg Wyttenbach, Felix Renggli, Sergio Azzolini, Roberto Fabricciani, Rohan de Saram, Robert Scott Thompson, Pete Stollery and others. He has held a great number of the master classes in Ljubljana, Berlin (UDK Berlin), Basel (Musikakademie der Stadt Basel), Lugano (Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana), at Aberdeen University, at the Centre of Excellence in Varaždin, in Pula, Arena International, University of Trieste. His rich career is regularly followed by beilliant critics of both national and international media.
