ROBERTAS BEINARIS

Robertas Beinaris is an enthusiast of the oboe and the torch of the oboe-related art in Lithuania and beyond its borders. He has collected the brightest examples of the music for the oboe as well as new, modern opuses. Having accomplished the postgraduate studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (the LAMT ) (the class of Prof. R. Staškus), in 2002-2003, the oboist did his internship in the national conservatoire in Lyon (France) (the class of Prof. J. L. Capezzali and J. Guichard). He also participated in the workshops of such prominent oboists as G. Meerwein, J. L. Capezzali, D. Walter, L. Hadady, P. Zamora. Since 2013, he had been studying for a doctoral degree at the LAMT (the class of Prof. Dr. A. Žiūraitytė and Prof. A. Vizgirda).
In 2014, the performer defended his thesis on the subject “The Oboe Acoustic Technological Possibilities and Innovations of Modern Expression”. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Arts. Robertas Beinaris is the winner of various national and international competitions in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland; In 1995, he became the winner of the second place at the J. Pakalnis Republican Competition of Wind and Percussion Instrumentalists; in 2001 he became the winner of the first place at the Competition of Jurijan Andrejs Wind Instrumentalists in Latvia; in 2008 he won the first place within the oboe quintet at the VIII Competition Music without Limits; in 2009 he was awarded the first prize at the Lithuanian Championship of the Wind Orchestras as the best soloist. As a member of various ensembles and as a soloist he has performed in Germany, Italy, Austria, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, France, Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia and Poland.
The oboist has played with the symphony orchestras of Toscany, Innsbruck, St. Petersburg, the Lvov Philharmonic Hall, the European Students’, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra and the symphony orchestra of the LAMT students; the chamber orchestras of Lithuania, of the Soloists of Kiev, of Klaipėda, Šiauliai, the St. Christopher’s Chamber Orchestra [of Vilnius]; as well as with the orchestras of the Hundisburg International Academy, Musica Humana, Camerata Klaipėda, Čiurlionis Quartet, the Kaunas City String Quartets, various groups of baroque music; Robertas Beinaris continuously plays the music written by the Lithuanian composers, often cases – their premiers. Pieces of music performed by the oboist can be listened to on more than ten compact discs. Robertas Beinaris has been a member of the ensemble “Musica Humana” and a member of the group of modern music “Gaida”. He is the leader of the Oboe Quintet of Lithuania, which he established himself in 2007; he often works with young talents for the Mstislav Rostropovich Charity and Support Foundation, organizes the championship of the Lithuanian oboists, the international oboe competition of Liutauras Vėbra, the international competition of chamber ensembles “Musical Aquarelle”, he is the organizer and art manager of the International Oboe Festival. He conveys his experience to younger generations – he gives lectures at the Vilnius Balys Dvarionas Ten-Year Music School, is an Associate Professor at theLAMT and the head of the Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments. He has been awarded the medal for merits to the town of Anykščiai and the badge of the Old Varėna.
In 2014, the company Buffet Group (France) manufacturer of woodwind instruments included Robertas Beinaris into the list of the most outstanding oboists. In 2015, Lithuanian Musicians’ Union awarded Robertas Beinaris the “Golden Disk”.
